Diesel Truck Mechanic
JR Fuel Oil, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Mechanic to join our team in New Hyde Park, NY.
Job Summary:
We have an immediate opening for an experienced diesel mechanic to maintain our fleet at our family-owned oil company in New Hyde Park, New York. This position includes the repair and preventative maintenance of diesel engines.
Job Responsibilities:
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
Identify worn and damaged parts
Diesel engine repair
Electrical wiring and repair
Brake service and repair
Preventive maintenance
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Vocational Certificate or equivalent
2 - 5 years of relevant experience
Valid Class A or B CDL license
Hazmat Endorsements
Experience with home heating oil delivery vehicles
Experience with Freightliner Diesel Vehicles
Experience with fuel oil trucks & pumping systems
Experience with Mercedes Sprinter Diesel Vans
Skills and Abilities:
Solid technical understanding
Safety-orientated, thorough & dependable
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
Strong sense of responsibility
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay: B scale $36 -$40, A scale $45 - $50
