Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engines, steering, brakes, suspension, transmission, air conditioning, etc.
Maintain vehicle functional condition by addressing customer concerns; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
Perform wheel alignments
Perform routine vehicle preventive maintenance
Provide labor and time estimates for automotive repairs
Completes service and repair assignments efficiently, safely and correct, to pass quality inspections set forth by organization’s quality standards.
Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
Communicate directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work.
Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives before and after repairs.
Maintain a clean and well-organized service bay.
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques.
Qualifications:
3+ years auto mechanic experience as a diagnostic automotive technician
Valid Driver's License is a MUST
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Inspector License highly preferred
ASE Certification highly preferred
The salary range for the position of Automotive Mechanic/Technician is $20-$30 per hour. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range, including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
