Our client - a major utility firm based out of Long Island, NY - has an immediate need for an experienced Network Support Engineer. The particulars of the position are as follows.
More advanced individuals will develop high-level and complex designs for systems, applications, or network processes. Strong working knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Barracuda, Wireshark, and other network software is needed. Expertise would include firewalls, switches, routers, network monitoring software, intrusion detection and data leakage protection software, voice/phone systems, some audio-visual technologies. They serve as the focal point for network design decisions and all data centers.
Responsibilities
Provides expert knowledge in one or more fields of specialization on an enterprise level IT infrastructure.
Have in-depth skills in network design and architecture, firewall installation and support, network monitoring, voice-related systems, network convergence, and serve as subject matter experts on data and telecommunications projects.
Multiple years of consulting experience and strong cable plant/wiring experience is required.
