Summary of Role: We are seeking a Cybersecurity intern to join our team. As a Cybersecurity inter n, you will assist in maintaining and enhancing GlobalFoundries data protection and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies. This role will provide hands-on experience in cybersecurity practices, policies and technologies focused on safeguarding sensitive information. Essential Responsibilities include:
Assist with the implementation, configuration and monitoring of DLP tools to help prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.
Analyze alerts and reports from DLP systems and provide recommendations for mitigating data leakage related risks.
Support investigations into data breaches , including root cause analysis and documentation.
Help develop and update data protection policies and procedures.
Work on projects related to DLP and other data protection technologies and initiatives as assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs .
Required Qualifications:
Education – A t least a sophomore at time of application and a ctively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Information Technology , Computer Science or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship .
Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior related internship or co-op experience
Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data protection practices
Familiarity with DLP tools (e.g., Forcepoint, Microsoft Purview) and concepts is a plus
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
