Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Rensselaer County. The role involves a variety of accounting tasks in a dynamic setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial affairs, including accounting duties, within established guidelines. Responsibilities: Handle all aspects of bookkeeping, including cash management, billing, and recording and depositing checks and cash as received. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring payments are posted and collected in a timely manner. Compile financial data to provide audit trails and supporting material for the annual audit. Connect with clients to provide general information and resolve individual account problems, including past-due accounts. Oversee cash flow and cash management to ensure financial stability. Maintain accurate customer credit records for future reference and auditing. Leverage skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to enhance the financial processes. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as necessary. Ensure the accurate posting of payments to maintain up-to-date records. Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience in posting payments and handling financial transactions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is a plus. Certification in accounting or related field is advantageous. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
