Jetro Cash & Carry / Restaurant Depot (Multi-Billion dollar & expanding wholesaler) with main corporate office in Whitestone, Queens is seeking an energetic Assistant Controller to join the growing Accounting department in the corporate office in Whitestone, Queens, NY.
This job is not remote and is on site at our corporate office in Whitestone, Queens
The Assistant Controller will report to the Controller & Chief Financial Officer Finance and play a key role in the Finance organization. They will work with business partners and the Finance team to improve our procedures and processes and support overall growth.
Job functions include but not limited to:
Support the Controller in the day-to-day procedures to record, summarize, and report all operational, administrative, and financial transactions for the correct amount and in the appropriate general ledger accounts
Detailed expense analysis. Budget to actual variance review & interaction with branches , executives, key departments.
Monitor balance sheet review, account reconciliations and variances between current year results to last year to budget
Analyze general ledger accounts, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
Verify daily cash, check & credit deposits to POS system
Sales tax audit assistance and filings
Assist with annual budget preparation
Assist in year end closing and interaction with outside auditors & tax preparers
Requirements
- 3+ years ACCOUNTING level experience
- Bachelor's degree (Accounting major) required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
