CONSTRUCTION BOOKKEEPER

Job Title: Construction Bookkeeper

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records for construction projects. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth financial operations of our construction projects and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage accounts payable and receivable for construction projects, including invoicing, billing, and collections.

2. Reconcile financial statements, bank accounts, and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.

3. Process payroll for construction personnel and subcontractors, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

4. Track project expenses and maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions.

5. Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.

6. Assist in budget preparation and monitoring to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.

7. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.

8. Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to construction accounting practices.

9. Assist in year-end financial audits and tax preparation processes.

10. Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed to support the finance department and overall business operations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

2. Proven experience as a Construction Bookkeeper or similar role in the construction industry.

3. Proficiency in accounting software, with experience using NetSuite considered a plus.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

5. Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.

6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

9. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements governing construction accounting.

10. Prior experience with payroll processing and familiarity with prevailing wage regulations is a plus.

11. Certification such as Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) is desirable but not required.
