Part-Time Bookkeeper – Construction Industry
Location: Staten Island, NY (In-Office, Home Office with Separate Entrance)
Schedule: 3 Days Per Week | 20-30 Hours Per Week
Compensation: $25 - $30 per hour
Job Overview
Our client, a well-established company in the construction industry, is seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial professional with a strong background in QuickBooks to efficiently manage key financial and administrative functions. This position is based in Staten Island, NY, and requires in-office work three days per week in a home office setting with a separate entrance.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconciliation of Financial Accounts:
Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
Reconcile payroll transactions with the general ledger to maintain consistency.
Verify and reconcile 401K contributions along with the employer match.
Conduct accounts receivable reconciliations to track outstanding payments.
Accounts Receivable (Billing & Collections):
Generate and issue invoices for all services provided by the company.
Follow up on outstanding balances, ensuring timely collection of payments.
Accounts Payable Management:
Process bill payments and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Employee Tracking & Payroll Preparation:
Maintain accurate employee records for submission to the payroll service.
Track employee performance for job-related evaluations and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
A minimum of five years of relevant bookkeeping experience, including financial account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense tracking, and payroll management.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Office including Excel is required.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Prior experience in the construction industry is a plus but not required.
