We are seeking a passionate and reliable substitute assistant teacher for our play-based, Reggio-inspired childcare program, starting immediately through February 21. The role will begin with hours from 10 AM to 6 PM and will change in February to 8 AM to 4 PM. Candidates will be considered for permanent position.
Position Details:
Hours: 10 AM to 6 PM (until Jan 31), then 8 AM to 4 PM (starting in February)
Duration: Immediate start through February 21
Location: Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Pay: $19-21 per hour (based on experience)
Responsibilities: Support lead teachers in facilitating open-ended activities, assist with classroom management, engage with children in meaningful play, and help with daily routines (diaper changes, transitions, taking children outside to garden or playground, potty training, etc.)
Qualifications:
Experience with progressive education methods, ideally Reggio Emilia-inspired (Required)
At least 2 years of experience working with children ages 2 to 4 in classroom settings. (Required)
Fingerprinted to work in childcare (Required)
Training in early childhood education
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children and a team (Required)
