About the Role
Neighborhood Educational Partners (NEP) is hiring bilingual Spanish/English math tutors to deliver small-group Algebra I tutoring (5–6 students per cohort) for multilingual learners at a DOE public high school in Manhattan.
This is a school-day, in-person tutoring role, not after-school. You’ll work with English Language Learners (ELLs) who are developing both language and math fluency — helping them fill foundational gaps, build confidence, and ultimately prepare for the Algebra I Regents exam.
Our program is relationship-based, bilingual, and research-aligned, grounded in NYCPS’s High-Impact Tutoring (HIT) Standards and TNTP’s Unlocking Algebra I framework.
Responsibilities
Facilitate small-group Algebra I tutoring (5–6 students) alongside a co-tutor twice per week.
Use Spanish-language scaffolds, visuals, and vocabulary supports to make math accessible.
Implement NEP’s skill-based curriculum that rebuilds key pre-algebra concepts to on-ramp students into Algebra I success.
Track attendance and student progress through NEP’s data systems.
Collaborate with NEP coaches and site leads to adjust instruction and pacing.
Build strong, trusting relationships that help students build confidence in math.
