Qualifications:
-Looking for a PT Science teacher who can also be a Lab Tech, OR an experienced Lab Tech with an interest in teaching -middle school science
-Perfect for anyone needing a professional, part-time opportunity
-Must hold an undergraduate degree or associate degree within a related field
-Graduate degree in science and/or education is preferred
-Prior experience in a science classroom working with students is preferred
-Interest in teaching in a learning environment and running classroom lessons
-Knowledge and experience utilizing OSHA standards and other ‘best practice’ resources in relation to laboratory setup and safety
-Ability to work in a supportive and collaborative environment
-Demonstrated competency in the use of technology
-Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment background check
-Meets all local or state health requirements
Summary of Position:
The goal of this position is to support inquiry-based learning in a classroom setting with effective teaching and to ensure that all lab activities are conducted in a safe manner. The responsibilities involve supporting the work of science teachers and their students to ensure that they: make the best use of the time students spend in the science classroom & laboratory
