Lead Teacher for Toddler Classroom
Queens Learning Center seeks Head Teacher for our 2-3-year-old classroom with EITHER of the following qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
A Baccalaureate or higher degree in one of the following:
Early Childhood Education
Child Psychology, so long as the person has 12 credits specific to early childhood
Child Development, so long as the person has 12 credits specific to early childhood
Elementary Education
Nursery-6th Grade
Elementary Education
Special Education, Students with Disabilities (B-2) or Students with Disabilities (1-6)
General Education, so long as the person has 12 credits specific to early childhood
Teachers will play an integral role in continuing Tiny Footsteps' commitment to quality of care by fostering a supportive, respectful, and positive team setting between assistants and support staff. They will be required to execute a well-planned, developmentally appropriate curriculum that teaches children to be confident and creative problem solvers. Teachers will guide toddlers through intentional education and developmentally appropriate enriching experiences. They are expected to work closely with assistants to prioritize safety and social-emotional learning in all situations while also adhering to all DOHMH guidelines. As a toddler teacher, you will need to model and implement developmentally appropriate activities and positive behavior management.
This is a Full-Time Position with the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
It is preferred BUT NOT required that all qualified individuals possess:
NYS Certification in Early Childhood Education.
An Updated Medical form.
Fingerprints are Processed Through the Department of Investigation.
Mandated Reporter Certification.
First Aid/CPR Certification.
