For more information visit our website at www.simonandschuster.com.Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing seeks a creative & high-energy Publicist to create and execute publicity campaigns for a wide variety of childrens and YA releases.Responsibilities:Develop and implement title-specific publicity campaigns for picture books, middle grade and young adult novels, as well as license/brand programs.Write press materials and pitch/secure media coverage (broadcast, print, online), including cover reveals & book announcements, feature interviews, reviews & round-ups in national and local mediaPlan and execute author appearances including multi-city book tours, virtual appearances, local appearances, school visits, and special eventsResearch and develop relationships with media outletsArrange travel for authors/illustrators and create tour schedulesTravel selectively with authors for book tours and festivals/conferencesPresent campaign plans and results in internal sales meetingsPreferred Qualifications:2+ years in childrens publicity/publishingExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communication and presentation skillsExperience creating and executing highly successful title-based media campaignsDemonstrated booking and author tour management skillsEstablished network of broadcast, print and digital contactsMust have good time management skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and capable of multi-taskingAbility to work independently as well as in group settings, and demonstrate good follow-up and follow-throughDemonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and work flexibly and quicklyNotesViacomCBS is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) including disability/vet.At ViacomCBS, the spirit of inclusion feeds into everything that we do, on-screen and off.
