Residential Asset Backed Credit - Associate

The Residential Asset Backed Credit team within the Securitized Products Group ("SPG") is responsible for providing asset backed financing solutions to institutional and corporate clients of the firm secured by U.S. residential mortgage assets. The team is responsible for sourcing / structuring / pricing / executing financing transactions, developing asset classes, and managing clients. The team also actively risk manages its portfolio and develops external capital/syndication partnerships. The team covers a wide range of clients in the sector, including asset managers, private equity, hedge fund, mortgage REITs, government agencies, banks, insurance, fintech and traditional corporate clients. The role provides broad exposure to the U.S. residential mortgage sector which is one of the largest asset classes in the world.As an Associate for the Residential Asset Backed Credit team, you will get broad exposure to the entire U.S. residential mortgage sector.Job responsibilities:

Become knowledgeable about the mortgage sector/transactions/structures

Conduct industry and product research

Assist the team in marketing and structuring new transactions across a range of asset classes

Prepare and analyze term sheets and relevant deal documents

Coordinate and communicate with different internal counterparties within the bank (Trading, Sales, Banking, Diligence, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Research, Operations, Compliance, Technology, Accounting, Legal, etc.)

Improve processes and create efficiency

Participate in client management, attend industry conferences, work with external capital/syndication risk partners

Create presentation and marketing materials

Perform data analysis for valuation of various mortgage assets. Identify themes and trends

Assist in developing and running various quantitative models

Assist the team in portfolio risk management/monitoring

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Bachelor's degree with demonstrated academic excellence

3 years relevant professional experience

A high level of motivation - ability to drive projects and initiatives

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with various stakeholders

Ability to multitask/prioritize with strong attention to details

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Fluent in Excel and PowerPoint. Expertise with VBA, Python or similar programming language highly desirable
