Our Head of Technical Architecture for our Data Vault platform is seeking software engineers at various level. The Data Vault is a platform designed to address the logistical overhead commonly associated with data intensive projects. In broad terms, the platform services the following functions:
Data platform federation
Data technology abstraction
Data interop (via industry standard drivers/API-s).
What we need:
Highly experienced hands-on engineers with deep experience in the following areas: 1) SQL and relational data 2) Java (server-side engineering) 3) Antlr (or other language/grammar framework)
More junior individuals looking to grow their technical and industry experience within the context of a technical support and SME role in support of the above platform. Experience: 1) SQL and relational data 2) Python and Jupyter notebooks 3) Java (optional, but ideal
The platform is highly visible (both within the firm and on the street) and is an area of strategic investment as both an internal-use platform, as well as a client-facing revenue generating product.
Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial. 14+ years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have extensive experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $131,500 and $283,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
