Do you have the consultative and leadership skills to help customers succeed with their cloud adoption initiatives?As a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, you will design and build creative hybrid and cloud-based video processing and delivery solutions to some of the most sophisticated customers in the media industry using AWS native services and infrastructure as well as partner solutions. You are a technical thought leader who deeply understands existing media workflows (encoding, transcoding, packaging, origination, adaptive bitrate streaming, digital rights management, dynamic ad insertion, content delivery, and player technologies), the latest trends in the industry, and the challenges our customers face with these workflows.You will evangelize AWS services and media solutions that benefit customers. You will participate in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content, and reference architectures (white papers, code samples, blog posts) for video processing and delivery workflows. You will educate others (customers, partners, internal teams) on the AWS Media Services and AWS Elemental technologies through workshops, user groups, industry trade shows, conferences, webinars, and/or online video tutorials.Building next generation video architectures requires both a depth and breadth of understanding of the technical, operational and business challenges that our Media & Entertainment (M&E) customers are facing. You need to have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building new cloud solutions to support video workflows for a variety of different markets.
Key job responsibilitiesWork with existing and potential customers to deeply understand their business and technical challenges. Develop video processing and delivery solutions that best fits their needs.
Collaborate with AWS sales, training, support, and services teams to ensure customer success.
Build relationships across all levels of a customers organizations.
Exhibit thought leadership on the trends in the media industry.
Evangelize AWS Media Services and solutions that benefits customers video workflows. Share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public speaking events such as AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
Develop and provide proof-of-concepts and pre-sales support to customers.
Assist partners with building and delivering solutions to customers.
Provide one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers and partners.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community.
Act as technical liaison between customers and the service engineering teams, providing product improvement feedback to AWS developers and accelerating the adoption of new features in customer deployments.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
3+ years' of design, implementation, and consulting experience in media applications and infrastructures
4+ years' experience working with media customers in support of technology sales
Experience working with video Broadcast, OTT/ABR, and/or MVPD/MSO workflows
Experience with video compression, packaging, and delivery especially H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, HLS, DASH, and CDNs
5+ years' experience with Linux operating systems
Willingness to travel within the US up to 30%2+ years’ experience using at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby, Bash, Node.js, Perl)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBS in computer science, electrical engineering or other related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and prioritization skills
Experience with dynamic ad insertion workflows (SSAI, VAST, VMAP) and ad decision sever solutions
Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS
Experience with cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and operational management practices
Understanding of network security, disaster recovery, high availability, hardware, operating systems, and network connectivity
Experience with AWS services and infrastructure (Media Services, Cloudfront, S3, EC2, VPCs, Lambda, etc.)
AWS Solutions Architect or other technical certifications is a plus
