Are you passionate about creating delicious baked goods and starting the day with the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries? Bourke Street Bakery is seeking a skilled and dedicated Assistant Morning Baker to join our team. As an Assistant Morning Baker, you will play a vital role in crafting our bakery's signature products and delighting our customers with each bite. This would be at our flagship bakery, preparing and baking pastries & bread for 5+ locations in NYC.
Qualifications
1-4 years of experience in a professional bakery setting.
Proficiency in baking techniques, including mixing, proofing, shaping, and baking.
Knowledge of various baking ingredients and their interactions.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet production deadlines.
Attention to detail and precision in following recipes.
Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job.
Basic math skills for ingredient measurements and adjustments.
Certification in baking or food safety is a plus.
Excellent reliability and punctuality.
Compensation: $20 an hour; negotiable, dependent on experience
Hours: 1am-9am and 3am-11am, Sunday through Thursday
Location: 15 East 28th St., Nomad
Responsibilities
Mixing, shaping & baking different types of yeasted bread and sourdough.
Daily pastry preparation of French Viennoiserie and savory pastries (pies and sausage rolls)
Mix ingredients to create fillings for pastries and pies (e.g., chocolate ganache, crème ptissière, pie fillings)
Assembly and decoration of cakes
Prep, mix, and bake different types of baked items, including muffins, cookies, and sandwiches.
Packing products for delivery
