About us : The new “Café Swirls” is a vibrant and growing coffee shop dedicated to providing exceptional coffee and a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. We are looking for passionate and semi experienced baristas to join our team and help us create memorable experiences for our staff and customers.
Job summary: As a barista, you will play a crucial role in our store’s success. By delivering high quality products and experience to our customers, and mentoring junior staff to ensuring a smooth operational flow. You will be responsible for maintaining our standards of excellence in customer service, product quality, and stores presentation.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages to customers with precisions and care.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service, addressing customer’s questions and resolving any issues they might have.
- Train / mentor and supervise junior baristas providing but not limited to guidance, equipment use, customer interaction, support, ect.
- Maintain knowledge of coffee origins and brewing methods, equipment and flavors to educate customers and enhance their experience.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering supplies, tracking stock levels, and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate together and develop new and improved menu items and promotional offers.
- Contribute to a positive work environment with a friendly smile for a positive team environment, collaborating and communicating among your staff members.
- Manage store opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, cash handling and daily reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of some coffee experience as a barista or at a high volume coffee shop or café.
- Leadership skills with experience in training and supervising staff.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing, techniques, equipment, and maintenance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Passion for coffee and a desire to continue learning and growing in the industry.
Preferred qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of coffee experience.
- Barista certification or training from a recognized program.
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling.
- Knowledge of coffee drinks and specialties.
