NYT Critically acclaimed, Michelin-Starred restaurant is seeking an Chef de Cuisine.
We are looking for a business-minded, professional, and passionate candidate with New York City fine dining experience. Food cost management, seasonal menu development and professional kitchen management are critical elements of this position. The ideal candidate will help to create a supportive kitchen environment that encourages and motivates members of staff in a positive way. To us, a desire to learn, personal ambition and a positive attitude are as important as kitchen experience. Serving French New American, with a highly seasonal menu that is farmers market focused.
General Responsibilities:
Cooking (This is a hands on position for a person passionate about cooking and will lead by example )
Maintaining proper ordering, scheduling and inventory
Executing existing core menu items day to day management of kitchen and team
Ensuring that all food meets the highest standards of quality and consistency
Ensuring best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen
Requirements & Preferences:
Past experience as Chef de Cuisine – Fine Dining
Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
Previous experience in an all scratch kitchen
Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety
Knowledge of P&L, managing inventory, and cost controls
Flexible schedule, including weekends, and on holidays
