Job Title: Cocktail Server
Location: Mockingbird, Park Slope, Brooklyn, NY
Job Type: Hourly ($16/hr plus tips)
About Mockingbird: Mockingbird is an upscale zero-proof cocktail bar located in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We specialize in crafting creative, non-alcoholic cocktails and offer an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beers and wines. As an equal opportunity employer, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and personable Cocktail Server to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, showcasing our unique zero-proof cocktails with charm and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, eager to learn, and committed to creating memorable experiences.
Cocktail servers at Mockingbird play an integral role in bridging the gap between the wide swath of expertise behind the bar to the curious customers on the floor. In addition to executing your standard customer service principles with aplomb, servers at Mockingbird raise the bar by consistently providing friendly and memorable interactions. They understand that our customers are our community and treat them as such.
When taking orders, servers ask any relevant questions about drink preparation so that bartenders don’t need to pause service to ask. They make thoughtful, well informed suggestions pulling from the guest’s tastes as well as their own expertise. Servers at Mockingbird are studied in the principles of NA mixology and can communicate our mission statement effectively on the fly.
They are responsible for keeping the floor clear of debris and empty glasses in the course of service. They may also be asked by the bartender to restock any items depleted behind the bar during a shift, such as ice. Carding guests, asking after allergies, and keeping an eye on corners where the bartender’s eyes can’t reach are integral to the safety of the server’s coworkers and customers.
