We are currently looking for an experienced cook (Italian cuisine) to join our kitchen team. The kitchen prepares breakfast, lunch and dinners. In addition, the kitchen team preps food for the deli sandwiches and catering orders.

Job Description – Cook (Italian cuisine)
The Cook will assist the owners as they manage the inventory of food and beverages, equipment, and supplies. Responsible for following food preparation, portion sizes, and the overall presentation of food. Ensure compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for completing the necessary tasks for the operation of the kitchen
Perform cooking and food preparation duties
Monitor inventory and amount of food that is being utilized
Ensure compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
Monitor food preparation methods and presentation of food in order to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner.
Assist with receiving food and beverage deliveries, and checking delivery contents in order to verify product quality and quantity.
Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation, and food subsidies when appropriate.
Maintain food and equipment inventories, and document inventory records as directed by owner
Maintain cleanliness and appearance of workspace to be in compliance with all sanitation and department of health standards.
Other duties as assigned by owner
Requirements:
Must have experience working in kitchen
Experience with Italian food prep and cooking highly desirable
Must have food handling certificate or be willing to acquire it
Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
A team player with good communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Very good physical condition and endurance
