The Commons Chelsea is a neighborhood cafe serving breakfast/lunch/brunch and specialty coffee since 2011. We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our family! Specifically, Sunday & Monday closing shifts from 9am-3:45pm. We're looking for someone who works hard, enjoys customer interaction, good music, and being part of a small but mighty team!
Job Requirements:
-1+ years experience in a fast paced coffee shop making specialty coffee. We are looking for someone who already knows how to dial in espresso, perform latte art and can talk about the differences between various coffee drinks.
-Timely and responsible!
-Strong knowledge of coffee & a passion for food
-Familiar with La Marzocco machine (or similar) and able to make latte art with ease and confidence
-Extremely organized & clean with the ability to take initiative and make sure the cafe is looking orderly and cared for.
-Positive, friendly attitude! We are a member of an awesome Chelsea community and know many guests for years.
-Eager to learn from and contribute to a supportive, hard working team.
-Available to work Sundays & Mondays is a must. Other shifts may become available if others are sick or take time off.
-Desire to grow within our company.
Responsibilities:
-Taking orders at the POS station and expediting food; you will start at the register and be cross trained as barista
-Maintaining a clean & stocked station
-Knowledge of all food menu items
-Execution of all beverages in a fast paced environment
-Working together with our manager or shift leader to provide quick and friendly service to all customers. You will switch off between register & barista.
-Opening & Closing duties when scheduled
Pay is hourly plus tips, equaling about $25-$30/hour depending on the season
