Job Title: Line Cook (Indian Cuisine)

The Drunken Munkey is a popular Indian restaurant located on E 92nd St. known for great food and even better cocktails. We offer a range of traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine, from classic curries to tandoori grills. We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking line cook to join our kitchen team. If you have some experience working in an Indian restaurant and a passion for cooking, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items and breads.
- Set up and maintain your cooking station with necessary supplies and ingredients.
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality.
- Assist in food prep, portioning, and plating.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and safety at all times.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 6 months of experience working in an Indian restaurant or with Indian cuisine.
- Passion for Cooking: Willingness to learn and improve cooking skills, especially related to Indian cuisine.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure: Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Team-Oriented: Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility: Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- NYC Food Handlers Permit
