Job Title: Experienced Sushi Chef

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine, particularly in the art of sushi making. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting traditional and creative sushi dishes to our customers. You must have a keen eye for detail, excellent knife skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and special rolls
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sushi bar area
- Work closely with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and service
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for ingredients as needed
- Train and mentor junior sushi chefs and kitchen staff
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Cook
- Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in sushi presentation
- Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Certification from a culinary school or sushi training program is a plus
- Food handler's certificate or equivalent
