The Francis Kite Club is a public social club in the East Village of Manhattan founded by friends and co-conspirators. The Kite hosts a range of activities including live music, art, performance, craft, reading groups, and other uncommon events.

The head bartender is the operational lead of the bar - this role is a multi-faceted, organized, and flexible one.
Duties include: menu management, including seasonal specialty drink creation; weekly inventory and ordering; maintaining physical bar organization and working with coworkers to optimize bar supply usage and storage; weekly scheduling (with rotating events and rentals in mind); POS backend management; payroll support.
This is a front-facing role, and requires being an integral point of contact for bar staff, Collective members, rental and event customers, and the bookkeeper. The head bartender will need to have comfortability with Google Suite, and some administrative experience.
With additional support, the head bartender will be a point person for bar staffing needs.
The ideal candidate will be available Thurs - Mon, 12PM - 8PM. Hours and schedule may vary each week, but this person should expect to be at the Francis Kite Club at least four days per week, and especially on days when an event is occurring. The head bartender may work bar shifts as scheduled or needed.
This is an hourly position, starting at $25/hour; there is room for growth at the Kite, and we are looking for a long-term candidate who would like to become an integral part of the team in a bigger way down the road.
