Our client, a full-service hotel located near LaGuardia Airport, is looking for line cooks. Ideal candidates should have 1-2 year(s) of experience in high-volume kitchens.
We are looking for someone interested in PM shifts, (roughly) 3:00PM - 12:30AM.
must be eligible to work in the country. This is NOT a cash only role.
Responsibilities:
Prepare basic components of each dish including fish, poultry, meats etc.
Ensure that all food prep areas meet Department of Health standards
Work with team of cooks for portion prep and station line work
General prep-cook soups, sauces, and set up stations
Support kitchen staff, employee cafeteria, and slice deli meat
General production: assist with several tasks
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience; must have experience as a cook, handling hot and cold food preparation
Experience in hospitality, restaurants, catering, or events
Ability to multitask in a composed, friendly, and hospitable manner
Great attention to detail, willing to learn, and ability to maintain a safe and orderly, clean kitchen
Shows a high commitment to delivering quality product and demonstrates excellent culinary skills
Basic understanding of English is okay
