Our Deli Cooks make our sandwich, salad and snack items. They work with our baristas to take orders and answer any questions about the menu. Our Cooks are passionate about food and care deeply about quality and consistency. Our cooks are also team players with strong communication and task management skills.

A&C Super is a bakery, deli and grocery corner store. Job Responsibilities

- Prepares, produces, and makes sandwiches, salads and snacks.

- Takes deli orders, prepares them and delivers them accurately to guests.

- Answers any question about the menu, ingredients and preparation.

- Sets time and speed controls for prep and cooking equipment, so that ingredients will be plated or cooked according to provided instruction.

- Measures or weighs ingredients to prepare recipes using scales or graduated containers.

- Prepares garnishes as needed for deli items.

- Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration.

- Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by ordering and utilizing proper quantities and rotating products.

- Performs daily checks and maintains all food safety measures to the standards of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

- Prepares and displays sandwiches for the deli case

- Utilizes any and all leftovers into usable products.

- Cleans, breaks down, and puts away all deli equipment including: ovens, slicers, floors, freezer, and refrigerators.

Job Qualifications

- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment

- Planning, problem solving, and teamwork

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

- High school diploma or GED

- Preferably two (2) years of cooking experience

- Current SERVSAFE certification or has successfully completed a sanitation course within the past year

- Associate’s degree in hotel or institutional food preparation preferred

- Current food handler’s card and other certification as required by federal/state/local law

Compensation & Benefits

$18 / hour

30-hour work week

Paid weekly on Fridays

5 paid holidays

PTO increases after 1 year of employment
