Parla is a spot to celebrate NY-style pizza and Italian-inspired cocktails from the team behind The Smith. Opening this fall on the Upper West Side, Parla is an all-day destination for lunch and dinner, with plans to serve baked goods at breakfast. The square and round pizzas are the anchors of the menu, along with house-made pastas, veggies, and shareable plates created by Executive Chef Brian Ellis. The bar specializes in espresso, wine, and cocktails using a curated selection of amari and vermouth.

We are looking to build a team of talented and passionate hospitality professionals to help us at Parla.

The Position: Garde Manger Cook

Position Requirements:

Must have previous Garde Manger experience

Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces

Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards

Prepare food to Parla’s specifications

Responsible for food preparation, cooking, and presentation

Set up station for service by chopping, butchering, preparing, and/or stocking station

Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

Answer, report, and follow CDC’s or Sous Chef’s instructions

Clean up station during and at the end of service

Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

You have a love and passion for the hospitality industry

You work hard and never settle

You have 2-years of experience in a fast-casual dining environment

You genuinely get joy out of making people happy and are able to have fun while working

You take pride in your success and the success of those around you

Ability to read and follow standardized recipes

Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role preferred
