Compensation: $45/hour (potential flex depending on experience)

Overview:

A high-net-worth household is seeking an experienced Live-In Cook & Light Housekeeper to provide top-tier culinary preparation, service, and light housekeeping. This role is primarily focused on food and guest service, with housekeeping as a secondary responsibility. The ideal candidate is professional, discreet, adaptable, and comfortable working in a high-expectation environment.

Responsibilities:

Culinary & Food Service:

Prepare fresh, high-quality meals, including salads, poached dishes, and homemade soups.

Plate and present food beautifully and with attention to detail.

Serve drinks to guests on a platter, wearing white gloves when required.

Maintain knowledge of all menu items, preparation techniques, and Steps-of-Service standards.

Clean the kitchen after meals when housekeepers are not present.

Work with fresh ingredients and follow precise cooking instructions.

Housekeeping & Service:

Perform light housekeeping tasks in between culinary duties.

Make the employer’s bed and provide nighttime turn-down service.

Clean bathrooms or other areas as needed when housekeepers are not present.

Maintain a polished, professional appearance; adhere to uniform and hygiene standards.

Professional Expectations:

Address the employer respectfully and professionally.

Exhibit a calm, friendly, and efficient demeanor, even under a direct management style.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an unlimited basis.

Excellent command of the English language.

Schedule & Availability:

Core schedule: 5 days per week, with flexibility to cover weekends when other staff are off.

Support required throughout the week; employer travels regularly (notably Thursdays–Sundays during summer).

Must be adaptable to a dynamic household environment.

Qualifications:

Professional culinary training preferred (recruiting from culinary schools encouraged).

Prior experience in private household service or luxury hospitality strongly preferred.

Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and time management skills.

Reliable, trustworthy, and discreet.
