We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team at a thriving Mexican fast-casual restaurant. The ideal candidate must have a Food Protection License from the NYC Department of Health and a strong understanding of the health and safety regulations required for food establishments. While prior experience with Mexican cuisine is not required, it would be a definite plus.
Key Responsibilities:
The Manager will oversee daily operations, including sales verification, staff supervision, and hands-on execution of kitchen and cashier duties when necessary. You will lead a team of 12+ employees, ensuring smooth service, compliance with protocols, and a positive work environment.
Managerial Duties:
Cashier Workstation Management:
Maintain hygiene and cleanliness at all workstations.
Ensure all employees wear proper uniforms, hairnets/hats, and adhere to dress code policies.
Keep cashier stations stocked with necessary supplies (e.g., receipt paper, toner, menus, stickers).
Monitor online delivery orders, ensuring they are input into the POS system and communicated to kitchen staff.
Adjust estimated delivery times based on order backlog.
Track employee attendance and ensure productivity during slow periods.
Assist cashiers as needed during busy hours.
Sales & Customer Relations:
Review daily sales records for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Verify and address any refunds issued.
Monitor customer feedback on social media and delivery platforms, responding professionally.
Handle escalated in-person customer service issues beyond the cashiers’ scope.
Kitchen Operations Management:
Enforce hygiene and food safety protocols.
Oversee inventory labeling, organization, and rotation.
Maintain cleanliness and ensure compliance with health code regulations.
Monitor portion sizes and order prep times for efficiency and consistency.
Track employee schedules and assist kitchen staff during peak periods.
Inventory & Scheduling:
Review and manage stock levels for both perishable and dry goods, placing orders as needed.
Create and adjust weekly staff schedules to ensure full coverage.
Qualifications:
✅ Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience.
✅ NYC Food Protection License (Required).
✅ Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
✅ Familiarity with POS systems and online delivery platforms.
✅ Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
