About Sereneco
Based in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn, Sereneco is an all-day New American Restaurant in a light-filled, welcoming space. Our nourishing, vegetable-forward, seasonal-inspired menu is designed to bring out the very essence of every ingredient, while our space focuses on life’s simple pleasures—natural finishes, abundant space and light and harmonious design. We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a part-time barista. You must be available on both Thursday and Friday to be considered for this position.
Position Summary
The barista is responsible for preparing a variety of coffee beverages, as well as reselling various hot and cold beverages. The barista will also serve baked goods and other brunch menu items.
This position requires heavy customer contact and excellent service skills. Positive attitude is required at all times in order to ensure the return of our customers who are the focus of our business. Cleanliness and strong organizational skills are required.
This position requires opening the restaurant 2-3 days per week and working independently for 2+ hours to start the day.
The schedule for this position will be:
Thursday: 7:15am-4pm
Friday: 7:15am- 4pm
Possibility for more hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings as well.
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare hot and cold coffee beverages
- Set up and sell baked goods and brunch menu items
- Accurately handle cash and reconcile change due to customers
- Serve customers full-service and takeout brunch
- Complete weekly side-work and cleaning, as determined by management
Qualifications
- 3+ years working in specialty coffee
- Supervisory experience
- Team Player
- Clean and Organized
- Ability to suggestively sell food and beverage items
- Ability to learn and use company computer systems (Toast)
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- NYC food handler’s card
