Bartender needed for 2 shifts (Wednesday pm closer and Saturday pm closer) per week in a casual, neighborhood bar setting at our two busy corner locations. We serve drafts & bottled beers, wines, and cocktail knowledge is necessary as we serve a full bar. FAST PACED. There will always be shifts to pick up and cover almost weekly for extra income.
-Must have true bartending experience, not just wine/beer bar, or quick service catering events or coffee house that serves some alcohol. Not someone fresh out of bartending school.
-Must be willing/comfortable with closing the bar. Wednesday closes at 1am, and Saturday at 3am. These are late nights, and you can expect to be alone. We do not close early. We are looking for someone who likes people, wants to help drive the party and engage with customers. Play great music, set the vibe, have a good time and please know that the Saturday shift includes bartending fun events like Drag Bingo. If this is not your jam, do NOT apply. We welcome everyone and want our staff to reflect that.
-Food Handlers License required. This should be from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This is not the safe serve certificate or some other off-brand company. Please see photo of the license/card we require.
-Know how or be willing to learn to change beer kegs and beer/soda gas tanks (which may include some heavy lifting)
-Willing to go to tables if working alone without busser or server
-Set up tables and chairs outside during the warm season
-Batching house specialty cocktails
-Restocking your fridge daily
-Daily cleaning and bar maintenance a must, no egos (this is not a place for “that’s not my job” or “at my last job there was someone who did this”. Full hands in situation. Sweeping after shift.
-Able to work some holidays if they fall upon your shift
-Willing to pick up/cover shifts with co-workers
Pay is $11/hr plus Tips. Cash tips are taken home, CC tips included in weekly paycheck.
This is a fully pooled house. The pool runs all day. Day bar shares with night bar. When there is a seasonal server, the server is fully included in the pool. No point system. Tips pooled equally by number of hours worked.
