Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about cooking, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Prep Cook, you will support our chefs and kitchen staff by preparing ingredients and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and portion ingredients for daily service, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, proteins, and other items.
- Assist in the preparation of sauces, dressings, and other culinary components as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas and kitchen equipment.
- Follow recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and notifying the kitchen manager of needed supplies.
- Support the kitchen team during peak hours by performing various tasks as needed, including plating and garnishing dishes.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
