Upper West Side Restaurant seeking an experienced multi-tasking Restaurant Office Assistant with excellent communication skills and upbeat attitude for its New York office. The ideal candidate will report to the Company Director and would be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to department managers. Schedule requires - Weekend availability and afternoon/evening hours.
Restaurant Office Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify and accurately post business transactions to Excel, Quickbooks, and other existing software; Invoices, receipts, checks, etc.
Accurately record cash receipts, expenditures, A/P, A/R, profit and loss, set up vendors payments for approval
Calculate and assist with Payroll approvals, time off requests, etc. promptly; Payroll liaison with regards to questions and issues
Assist with front-of-house operations during peak hours,
Update and Print Menu and POS system to reflect current items and pricing
Prepare reports and communications as needed by General Manager
Communicates and takes additional direction from the General Manager and department heads as needed
Answers telephones, direct calls, takes messages, and runs errands, books reservations.
Liquor inventory accounting, checking and updating stock, placing vendor orders when received from management
Prepares meeting agenda, attends meetings, and records/transcribes minutes
Completes work schedules, manages calendars and arranges appointments
Opens and routes incoming mail, answers, proofreads, and edits outgoing correspondence and prepares outgoing mail.
Compiles, copies, sorts and files records, business transactions, and other activities.
Types, format, proofreads and edits reports and other documents
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must have prior Administrative / Bookkeeping / Quickbooks Online experience (preferably in the restaurant industry)
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, computer skills with Mircosoft Office knowledge.
Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
Bilingual may be preferred
