Fairfield County based restaurant and hospitality group is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to oversee and manage all financial matters for two restaurant brands Our corporate office is based in Westport, Connecticut.

We currently have four restaurant locations and our Westport corporate office provides a central location for the daily management of all financial and bookkeeping matters. As we continue to grow our company throughout the region, we are seeking a part time professional restaurant Bookkeeper to work closely with our office manager.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Accounts Payable – Code/Enter Invoices into Quickbooks

- Bill Paying – Print checks for vendors, maintaining current balances, and interacting with vendor representatives to resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner

- Positive Pay – Upload excel spreadsheets of all checks written out of the payroll and operating accounts to our online banking portal

- Monitor utility and insurance bills for all four restaurants and contacting the appropriate companies if there is an issue.

- Make monthly rent payments for all four restaurants

- Review bank accounts daily and entering any electronic debits or credits into Quickbooks. Checking with the owner or manager if any charges appear suspicious

- Fund each restaurant’s payroll, sales tax, and reserve accounts out of its operating account as needed to cover associated expenses

- Remit monthly sales tax for all four restaurants

- Remit quarterly personal property taxes for all Connecticut locations

- Maintain current health and liquor permits for each location as applicable

- Enter itemized sales reports into Quickbooks daily for each restaurant and reconcile the amounts reaching the bank account to the amounts listed on the POS Reports

- Help oversee payroll for all four restaurants and the holding company. This may include reviewing the payroll for each restaurant entered by their respective manager to ensure accuracy.

- Enter all payroll checks and payroll tax payments into Quickbooks weekly and fund payroll accounts accordingly

- Complete annual audits of all business liability and workers compensation insurance policies

- Assist with filing insurance claims as needed for prolonged power outages, workers compensation incidents, etc.

- Keep an up-to-date Daily Sales Report using the template provided to track sales, COGS, and labor costs. This report will need to be rolled over monthly and is used to determine eligibility for bonuses based on Food Cost, Beverage Cost, and Prime Costs.

This position reports directly to Chef/Owner and works closely with all individual restaurants' management teams, holding monthly p&l review and strategy meetings in each respective location.

The Bookkeeper also works closely with our Accounting firm on all payroll and tax reporting matters.
