New York’s only sustainable sushi restaurant located in the heart of the East Village is hiring a sushi chef. We are a locally focused sushi and wine bar serving a variety of nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and plated dishes from locally sourced sustainable seafood.
We are looking for an experienced sushi chef for a full or time position. You must be interested in both traditional techniques and innovative approaches – especially working with local seafood.

Compensation is a competitive hourly rate, with consistent gratuity.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepping and managing a sushi station from start to finish
- Making sure that all safety and quality standards are met
- Fish preparation, breaking down and serving many different kinds of sustainable fish
- Cleaning and cooking rice
- Being an organized team player who can manage a prep list
- proper preparation of sushi rolls
- proper preparation of nigiri
- A positive and team-forward attitude
- A trustworthy and reliable nature
- Open availability including weekends
- A NYC food handlers license will be a requirement, but we will work with you to obtain if need be
