About Cheeni:
Cheeni is a neighborhood joint serving coffee, wine, and Indian-ish food. We are aiming to open our doors in mid-July, and we are looking to build out our initial team of cooks and baristas with serving experience.
Cheeni will be open all day, serving breakfast, lunch, and small plates as well as a medium-length wine and beer menu. Cheeni’s menu was developed by its owners and consists of a variety of Indian fusion dishes. We expect to have one cook and 2-3 servers / baristas behind the bar during each shift.
Job Description / Requirements:
Cook: Complete food prep and quickly and consistently prepare menu items during service. Detailed instructions will be provided. Food handlers’ certificate required (or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of hiring). Weekend availability is also required.
Barista / Server: Prepare espresso drinks on a semi-automatic machine as well as prep / serve other beverages (i.e. chai). Interact with customers at the bar / counter to discuss menu items, take orders, and manage customer experience. Weekend availability preferred.
We are looking for team members with NYC experience and a lot of enthusiasm! As a new establishment, we are excited to hire a founding team that will grow with us - we want you to help us create a comfortable and unforgettable customer experience and evolve our menu. We will start interviewing on Friday, June 27th and start training on the week of July 7th.
