We are a European-style cafe, wine bar, and tapas place in Park Slope on Flatbush Ave. We serve Italian coffee and a small selection of curated wines and light tapas and sandwiches. Only cold small plates. There will be some pastries and simple but high-quality sandwiches in the morning. Great environment with some art events as well.
We're looking for Full-time and Part-Time Experienced Baristas to prepare and serve beverages, and food menu.
To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. NYC Food Handler permit required.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers as they enter
- Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy, and sugar ratios)
- Prepare beverages and food items following recipes
- Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
- Keep all areas of the cafe clean, and strictly follow all opening and closing procedures
- Maintain stock
- Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
Skills
- Previous work experience as a Barista
- Food Handler's License(must)
- Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Excellent communication skills
