Gowanus Gardens is a small, local bar and restaurant. We have a large backyard and simple but delicious bar food. We are looking for a part-time experienced bartender/server who available for 2-3 shifts per week and available to occasionally cover additional shifts. Some shifts will be behind the bar and some will be serving. All shifts will involve bussing and barbacking, whether you are bartending or serving. You will be carrying beer and liquor up basement stairs to restock, bringing heavy bus bins to the kitchen and moving kegs. If you are a bartender that is only comfortable behind the bar making drinks, this is not the spot for you. We all work together to get the job done.
We open at 3pm during the week and 1pm weekends. We close at 2am Sunday-Thursday and 3am Friday and Saturday. Candidates must be available and comfortable for both opening and closing shifts. Opening and closing employees work the beginning/end of their shifts alone. The ideal candidate will have a food handlers certificate. Please respond with your resume. Potential candidates will be scheduled for 20 minute interviews. Successful interviews will lead to trail shifts. There will be a minimum of 2 trailing shifts that are paid at $10/hour.
