The Elk West Village is hiring for an EXPERIENCED LINE/PREP COOK. The right candidate interested in this position should have at least 2 years of experience in high volume establishments working on the line, the ability to read tickets, can maintain speed and efficiency in preparing to go orders while upholding quality on all dishes and cleanliness in the workplace.

This is a FULL TIME position, 40 HOURS per week.
BREAKFAST AND LUNCH shift 7am-3pm.
Weekend Availability is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
-Punctuality for all scheduled shifts
-Opening and set up of food prep station in a timely manner
-Must demonstrate suitable knife skills when prepping
-Preparing and packaging dishes from Café Menu with correct presentation
-Maintaining DOH requirements for food/refrigeration and continuously checking the quality of ingredients
-Strong communication with the lead line cook, kitchen manager and prep leads
-Must be able to read and understand food ticket orders in english
-Working in all kitchen stations as needed for the day
-This position also will have some prep shifts in the week. Which will require you to be flexible between being on the line and changing to the prep side if needed.
Our menu encompasses a variety of cultural influences, with only the freshest ingredients utilized in each dish.
