We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding systems, including DRG, and ICD-10, Medicare, Manage Care. This role is essential for ensuring accurate coding and billing processes within our medical office. The DME Biller will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure that all medical records are coded correctly and efficiently, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
Responsibilities
Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding systems.
Review patient records to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and regulations.
Process medical billing and collections efficiently to ensure timely payments.
Utilize EMR and EHR systems for managing patient records and coding information.
Assist in maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations regarding medical records and billing practices.
Provide support in auditing medical records for accuracy and completeness as needed.
Experience
Previous experience in DME billing and collection or related field is required.
Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and other relevant coding systems is essential.
Experience with DME billing and collections processes is highly desirable.
Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for managing patient information is required.
