Responsibilities include:
Meeting and greeting patients before their dental examination
Conducting initial oral screenings and reviewing oral health history
Identifying conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
Cleaning and helping protect patients' teeth through tasks such as plaque removal and applying fluoride
Educating and instructing patients of all ages on proper teeth care, including ideal brushing techniques and flossing methods
Taking X-rays or dental impressions if deemed necessary
Maintaining up-to-date chart notes for each patient
Sterilizing dental instruments
Possessing knowledge of teeth whitening, sealants, nitrous oxide, perio-charting, oral hygiene instruction, caries prevention, and Invisalign
