Immediate Need for HHA to work in Queens - part-time

Our company is looking to hire compassionate, dependable, respectful, patient HHAs to work on cases. We are currently in immediate need of a fluent English-speaking HHA to work an hourly case in Queens 20 hours a week. The schedule for the case is as follows: Wed – Fri: 5pm – 9pm and Sat & Sun: 10am – 2pm. We are currently staffing for this case, so you will need to apply asap, if interested.

The patient is a woman with a disability who is in a wheelchair. We are looking for an aide with experience dealing with clients with hoyer lift and (preferably) have experience using the PureWick System. The patient is 265 pounds and will need help moving around such as being transferred from bed to wheelchair, from wheelchair to chair, etc. She will need assistance with cleaning, cooking, running errands and other ADL's.

Paid Sick Days! (5 Paid Sick Days)

MUST HAVE:

-Valid HHA certificate NY STATE

-Valid Identification for E-verify

-At least two references (3 preferred, 2 must be professional)

-Physical/PPD/ Drug Screen not older than 6 months

- Spanish-speaking aide preferred.

Requirements - Qualifications

Successful completion of a NYS Department of Health approved Home Health Aide training program as demonstrated by a valid Home Health Aide Certificate

One (1) year satisfactory experience in Home Care, desired.

Ability to speak, read, and write in English sufficiently to understand and interpret the HHA Plan of Care, document care provided on the HHA Time and Activity report and able to call agency to report change and/or issues related to the patient and/or 911 in case of emergency.

Dependability, strong assessment, organizational, interpersonal communication and listening skills

A mature caregiver that has compassion for senior citizens.

Responsibilities - Duties

Some duties and responsibilities of the HHA may include:

Supervise clients' condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output.

Maintain client by providing housekeeping and laundry services; shopping for food and other household requirements; preparing and serving meals and snacks.

Assist with bathing and grooming of patients.

Assist client with self-administered, oral medications that have been ordered by the medical practitioner.

Preserve a safe, secure and healthy environment by following all company standards and procedures; maintaining security precautions; following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
