Graduate student and wheelchair user in New York City seeking a full-time personal care assistant who is a Licensed Nurse (LPN, RN), APRN, NP, Physician Assistant, or MD, for assistance with all activities of daily living. The schedule is Sunday, 6:30 pm - Sunday, 6:30 pm, biweekly, with one week on and one week off. The personal care assistant lives in during their shift and lives out while not working. Pay is $7,811.72 per week, pre-tax.
Employment benefits with 1199 SEIU union membership include a 2.5% wage increase one to two times per year, a health insurance voucher equaling 7% of annual salary, paid time off, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, and discounts on auto insurance and other discounts.

This is a permanent position. There are many opportunities for downtime in between care routines that can be used for freelance work, studying, or hobbies. The personal care assistant must be readily available for care needs for the duration of their shift; however, 24-hour supervision is not required. Located in a safe neighborhood with a park across the street, close to M60 and M11 bus stops and 1/2/3 + B/F/M subway stops. There is a Dunkin', grocery store, and restaurants within a five-minute walk. The personal care assistant has rooftop and lounge access within the building.

The personal care assistant assists with all activities of daily living, including: personal care, respiratory care, enteral care, housekeeping, driving, meal prep and cooking, pet care, scribing, and other office and business tasks. Requirements:
Hold at least one of the following licenses: Licensed Nurse (LPN, RN), APRN, NP, Physician Assistant, or MD

Must be licensed in the United States (any state)
Must be willing to travel and enjoy traveling

Ability to easily lift/carry 70lbs multiple times per day
Able to easily follow directions and comfortable being directed
