Medical Assistant/ Front Desk/ Receptionist for Medical Practice

Family Medical Practice looking for a front desk/receptionist clerk to join our team! This position is a full-time position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Checks in patients at front desk and collects necessary documentation prior to appointment time

Checks out patients and schedules follow-up appointments as requested by provider

Greeting and directing patients with a positive and professional demeanor

Act as liaison between patients and billing department regarding charges, payments, and insurance

Collect patient in-office payments and document and balance at the end of business day

Collects co-pays and other payments and records payments accurately

Answers the phones as necessary and responds to and triages patient messages and requests

Schedule appointments, follow up with and track patients

Maintain forms and office supplies required for front desk activities, and inventorying supplies as needed

Provide outstanding service to our patients, physicians, and fellow team members

Key data into computer/eCW to maintain office and patient records

Assists manager and physicians, as reasonably required

Interact with Physicians, patients and staff providing accurate, timely and responsive information

Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice

Identify and report issues and inefficiencies

Collaborate with physicians, colleagues and management to implement solutions to problems

Remain HIPAA compliant at all times

Support goals and objectives of the company

Performs other job duties as assigned

Education, vocational training, and experience: High school diploma required, and at least 1 year experience in a medical office. eCW experience preferred. 3-4 years' experience ideal.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer services skills and ability to diffuse difficult situations. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must convey a high-level understanding of pain management conditions and treatment options. Strong interpersonal skills. Flexible and adaptable to change. Accurate with extraordinary attention to detail.
