Assistant Train Conductor
A well-established transportation company is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and ambitious skilled laborers to join our trainee program. This is a union position, and you will be eligible for union benefits.
This role will start you as an assistant conductor and provide you with the necessary testing material and courses to progress toward an engineering position.
Prior experience and skills obtained as a welder, mechanic, heavy machine operator, construction, and truck driver will lend themselves well to this role.
TRAINING IS PROVIDED, AND YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE AND TOOLS TO SUCCEED
In this position, general responsibilities will include the following:
Minor repairs of braking systems
Conduct inspections to find and document any damages
Connect Air hoses
Count and document Inventory
Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment ranging from 15 pounds or less or occasionally 75 pounds and more
Requirements:
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Driver's License (CDL is a significant plus but not necessary)
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
Willingness to work overtime, and flexibility to work various shifts.
Pay: $29.47 an hour with full union benefits. On track to make 6 figures within 2 years with various promotions within that time period.
