We are a dog day care and dog walking company on the Upper East Side looking for a P.M. Front Desk Admin.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for all duties relating to managing the Front Desk for a seamless customer experience and accurate business dealings. This includes facets of customer service, reception, organizing information, record-keeping, sales, marketing, inter-business and client communication and some dog interaction.
Since role interacts with the dogs in our care so we require some prior experience working with dogs. Dog Handler, dog walker, Veterinary clinic, shelter volunteer, etc.
This role is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 1pm until 7:15pm and Friday, 8am until 2pm for a total of 30 hrs per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES - other duties may be assigned.
Interact with customers in a professional and engaging manner.
Ask/answer questions, receive information regarding their dogs, explain company services and policies.
Address any concerns promptly.
Scheduling.
New dog interviews, daycare/boarding reservations, walking requests, etc.
Record keeping.
Track package use, vaccination records, correct paperwork on file, etc.
Assess client needs and suggest appropriate service.
Confidently explain our pricing and service offerings as well as various cost-saving packages that would suit them.
Frequent phone, email and text communication with clients is expected.
Light marketing tasks such as updating social media, encouraging positive reviews from clients, decorating for holidays/events, etc.
Maintain a clean and tidy environment at all times. Immediately clean dog waste messes and daily cleaning to keep desk and lobby area pristine.
Label and store all dog possessions. Ensure items are returned to owner.
Relay dog health, behavior, feeding, medication or care notes to team members. Similarly, inform back to owners via phone, text or in person.
Report any concerns or incidents to supervisors immediately.
Follow our policies and protocol at all times.
Facilitate a cohesive team with all co-workers. Clear and frequent communication is key to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our dogs, team and clients.
Special projects will be assigned. i.e. - training new hires, planning events, etc.
Must have ability to work professionally in a non-standard work environment. i.e - The presence of noises, smells and wastes (hair/vomit/potty mess) from dogs.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
High School Diploma or equivalence
Comfortable with dogs of all sizes, breeds and various temperaments.
Previous customer service and/or reception experience required
Experience working with dogs. Dog handling, Walking, veterinary, shelter, etc.
The ability to speak, write and communicate in a professional manner
Computer literacy and familiarity with a variety of software programs
Organizational skills, keen time management and ability to remain on task with frequent interruptions.
Must be comfortable in a fast paced environment with frequently chaning priorities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: List any special physical activity requirements that an employee must meet to perform the essential duties of this position.
Handling live dogs, all breeds and sizes - standing, walking and lifting movements.
Sitting at a desk for the majority of each shift. Frequent typing/data entry.
Basic cleaning movements are required to keep the space sanitary
Lifting up to 40 lbs.
