Handy Man - Maintenance

Aviator Sports and Events Center, a premier sports and recreation complex which includes a 175,000 sq. ft indoor facility featuring state-of-the-art ice rinks, a 15,000 sq. ft gymnastics center, wood floor basketball courts and two outdoor fields is currently looking for motivated, and hard-working individuals to join maintenance team. We are searching for full-time and part-time hourly facility workers to work with internal and external environments with cleaning, dusting, mopping, shoveling, maintenance and seasonal tasks.

FACILITY HANDYMAN –Shift Include 8am – 4pm and 4pm to 12am. Part-time 24 – 32 hours. Must be able to work weekends.

Qualified individuals should have excellent skills and strong experience in one or more of the following areas:

 Plumbing: Unclogging drains, repair/replacement of plumbing fixtures. Work with no hub, threaded and copper pipes.

 Electrical: Light fixture repair, ballast replacement, repair/replace switches and outlets, troubleshoot circuits, replace fuses/circuit breakers.

 Carpentry: Drywall, plaster and painting, door repair, flooring repair, cabinet repair/replacement.

 Overall maintenance and operations of the facility and grounds.

 Performs custodial work in offices and building interior/exterior to include sweeping, mopping, trash removal, waxing and polishing floors using industrial vacuum cleaners, and scrubbing and buffing machines.

 Communicate regularly with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all equipment and assigned jobs.

 Occasionally using ladders to wash windows and replace lighting.

 Sweep outdoors and removing snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks as weed wacking/edging and cutting grass.

 Clean and maintain facility bathrooms.

Qualification/Requirements:

 Facilities/operations experience with strong working knowledge of building systems.

 Proficiently skilled in plumbing, electrical, mechanics, tiling, and basic construction.

 Highly motivated service-oriented self-starter.

 Ability to communicate clearly with management team.

 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and complex operational matters on a regular basis.

 Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines on a routine basis.

 Able to lift 25lbs to 50lbs without any limitation.

 Ability to learn to drive large equipment.

The base pay range for this position is an hourly rate of $16. To $22. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
