Our client, a Presbyterian Church located in midtown is seeking a temporary to permanent overnight porter to add to their growing team.
Salary: $18.00 per hour
Hours: 11:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Days: Thursday – Monday (days off: Tuesday & Wednesday)
Job Summary:
General maintenance duties include but are not limited to:
Outdoor maintenance:
Snow removal on sidewalks and walkways including shoveling, salting, and use of a
snow blower
Cleaning of the roof and terrace drains
Placing the garbage/recycling out at designated times
Other maintenance duties include:
Light repairs including vacuum cleaner belt replacements, light bulb replacement,
and some painting
Organization of cleaning supplies, workshop, and supply room
Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping of large meeting areas, hallways, and stairwells
Dusting and sanitizing various areas of the building including conference rooms,
restrooms, meeting halls, and offices
Event preparation including but not limited to the set-up and breakdown of tables,
chairs, and other furniture
Removal of all trash and recycling from throughout the building
Support housekeeping staff
Report building emergencies to the Director in a timely manner
Maintain customer service standards
May perform other duties as assigned
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to frequently use chemicals and cleaning supplies
Ability to lift 30-40 lbs without assistance
Ability to bend, reach and stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to push and pull equipment and furniture
Ability to be on-call as required by work schedule including:
Building emergencies
Inclement weather: snow, hail, etc.
Some holidays (to be assigned in advance)
