Job Title: House Manager & Family Assistant

Location: Port Washington, NY 11050

Employment Type: Part-Time (20–25 hours/week M-W, flexible 10am-7:30pm) with potential to add Th-F hours down the line)

Start Date: September 2025

Compensation: $32–$35/hour

Requirements: Non-smoker, must pass background check, has reliable transportation

About Us

We are a warm, busy family of four with two full time working parents and 7-year-old boy/girl twins who attend school full time. We’re seeking someone reliable, kind, and proactive who will help our home run smoothly and take initiative in both household management and afternoon childcare. Our ideal person is warm and family-oriented who brings experience, heart, and calm energy into our home. You’re highly organized, dependable, proactive, and feel comfortable jumping in where needed.

Core Responsibilities

Household Management

Maintain systems for closets, pantry, toys, laundry, and linens

Reset and tidy key areas daily; prep home for biweekly cleaning service

Coordinate seasonal swaps (clothing, linens, decor)

Handle errands, grocery orders, dry cleaning, and returns, donation drop-offs

Organize for travel, events, and teacher/birthday gifts

Meal Prep (4x/week)

Plan and prep simple, healthy family meals

Grocery shop and manage pantry/fridge inventory

Clean and reset kitchen after meals

Laundry & Linens

Family laundry (including washing, drying folding, organizing, delicates, and all household linens such as bedding and towels)

Remaking beds

Ironing and steaming clothes as needed

Keep laundry areas clean and stocked

Afterschool Support

Receive kids from school bus (3:30 PM or 4:30 PM, depending on the day)

Keep them on task, supervise homework, play and snack time

Light child support; they are independent but benefit from structure

Other Tasks (Optional/As Needed)

Oversee vendors/service providers (e.g., handyman, cleaners)

Help with organizing special projects (pantry, closets, seasonal items)
